Laura Brown

Senior Director, Principal Gifts

Laura Brown joined the PBS Foundation in 2021 as Senior Director, Principal Gifts. Based in New York, she is responsible for raising funds in the Tri-State region to support PBS and member stations. Before coming to PBS, Laura served as Director of Major Gifts at the American Museum of Natural History from 2014-2021. In that role, she generated significant philanthropy to advance a successful campaign, working with volunteer and trustee leadership to build advisory councils. Laura has had the privilege of partnering with individual donors in support of an array of New York’s cultural, educational, and community organizations, including the 92nd Street Y and POWERMYLEARNING, where she built major gift programs and engaged new donors and advocates. Laura holds an MPA in nonprofit administration from the City University of New York, Baruch College, and a BS in communications from the State University of New York, Fashion Institute of Technology. Living with her husband and son, Laura enjoys family time, the outdoors, running, and painting.
